It was a pleasure and an honor to know you, to teach you — to share a love of reading with you — and to learn from you as well. You were a unique and irreplaceable personality, and you will be missed by all who knew you. God bless you and goodbye to you until we meet again one day on the other side.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of Patrick is dedication. You could tell he loved being at the Belt Belt Academy and that he was enjoying learning. He put his all into it as well. He was fun to watch because of that dedication. We will miss him and we send our deepest sympathies to his parents and family.
I always enjoyed watching Patrick at any of the graduation ceremonies and saw his true dedication to the sport. A true role model for the younger ones. My sincere sympathies go out to the family.
Patrick has been a fixture at the Black Belt Academy for as long as I have been there which is a month less than him! I always enjoyed watching Patrick, and watching him move up on the ranks. He even hung in there with the adults for Cardio Kickboxing with a smile on his face and doing his little special dance when music came on to his liking! I am heartbroken he had to leave us at such a young age. He touched the lives of those around him and he will be missed.
We all hope for our children to be happy, kind, helpful, smart, and respectful – Patrick was all of that. I always felt bad for him when he had to pitty-pat with me but he smiled through it. Find comfort in each other and in the love that you shared with Patrick. I hope your grief be softened with his beautiful memories.
The Shire Family has been a role model for what family means. I think of how they were always at BBA together. Patrick will be missed and our prayers will be with Mr. & Mrs. Shire.
Patrick was always a dedicated student at the Black Belt Academy. My daughter, Victoria, and I would watch him do weapons and practice his forms. He was a wonderful role model for the students as he helped & guided them at the studio. He will truely be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family always.
Patrick was a very dedicated student at the Black Belt Academy. I can’t remember a day when I was there that Patrick wasn’t also there, and giving it his all. He will be missed by both his peers and the parents.
Patrick was a great teacher when it came to forms and combination. With his great effort and patience he taught us everything we needed to know. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.
Patrick was my best guy friend. He was like a brother to me but even better. We called our selfs the tourney buddies. At tournements we wished each other luck as we won and lost. He was amazing at karate and I wanted to be just like him. He was a great role model and a amazing best friend. He was funny friendly and amazing. Tournements were a blast because of him. He was taken from this world way to soon he was going to do and already has done so much good to this earth. As i go to ccd this afternoon my prayers are with patrick and his family may god bless you and keep you safe until i can see you once agian. I will miss u terribly. I miss and love you forever and always <3 alli
We are so sad to hear about Patrick. He was always a fixture at every practice, working hard and teaching the younger kids about giving your all…leading by example. It was so special to see how dedicated his parents were to him, seeing both of them at this practices. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his family. The BBA won’t be the same without seeing them all there. Jacob said he was really good at helping the green belts with their stretches!
Patrick was a very unique individual. Always working hard and setting a good example for all to follow. We all learned from him and he will truly be missed by the BBA family. I will always remember his smile and his jolly personality. May you rest in peace and may your family find the strength to make it though this difficult time.
Everything that everyone else has said about Patrick is what me and my nephews Kael & Tristen Olds feel. Patrick was one of a kind and not a typical 13 year old. Patrick was above and beyond a normal teenager. He was truly an inspiration to everyone at the Black Belt Academy. He was so full of life and determination and was always respectful and a big help to everyone. The Black Belt Academy will not be the same anymore, we will miss seeing Patrick and his beautiful smile there. Our sympathies are with Patrick’s family through this time of sorrow.
Patrick was always humble, kind, polite and patient. He shared his smile with one and all, and happily gave his time helping the younger kids. He was Nick’s big brother at summer camp, classes and graduations. He left us too soon. I feel lucky to have known him. Our prayers and deepest sympathies to his many friends and especially his all family.
Patrick was a very good friend too me. He was very funny and kind . He always helped me in class and encouraged me to do well. I had fun with him, I will miss him so much. I thought of him as my big brother. My sister Tiffany and I will pray for Patrick and his mom & dad during this sad time.
We are very saddened to hear of his sudden passing. Respectful, committed, and kind, Patrick was an inspiration to all his fellow students. For parents, he exemplified what we hope to acheive with our own children. His presence and spirit will truly be missed.
Our sympathies and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Patrick was so wonderful in so many ways. I will miss him so much. No words can describe how sad I am for the Shire family, they have became such good friends of mine and Tiffany. Patrick was taken from us far to soon. Our prayers to Patrick’s family and many friends.
Patrick was a very kind and enthusiastic friend. He stood as a role model for others and worked his hardest all the time. He never gave up and was always tring to help others. I always gave the up most respect for Patrick. I and many people will miss Patrick dearly. I will surely keep his family and friends in my prayers.
Patrick was my kickboxing partner for one of the few times I attended. I enjoyed talking to him and was impressed by what a nice young man he was. I am saddened by his loss.
Such a shock and loss for us all. Our family cannot even begin to imagine this tragedy. Patrick was a truly kind soul at heart , and will be missed by all. Our prayers are with the Shire’s as we pray for the strength for them to make it through. We know Patrick shines down on us all and will always be remembered.
We’ve watched as Patrick progressed up several belt levels and have always been impressed by his dedication and earnestness. He always set a good example for the other students and never passed up an opportunity to jump in and help out. I’m very sad that we’ll never see the fine young man he would have grown into. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Patrick, Jack and Cal all started at BBA at around the same time. We have been through many testings, graduations and tournements together. We have spent many hours rooting each others children on during this time. Patrick kept raising the bar for all the other kids in class, always competitive and trying his hardest. Jack and Cal have lost a friend and TKD partner. Patrick, we miss you. Brenda and John, we wish you strength to continue on. The lives Patrick touched are many – his spirit will be carried on in our hearts and all the memories we have of him.
I had the privilege of getting to know Patrick through Summer Camp at the Centreville BlackBelt Academy. I could tell that Patrick came from a loving home – he was such a happy boy and he was so kind & patient with the summer camp kids. I know that his parents dedicated their lives to being the best parents they could be for Patrick. I truely believe that Patrick is watching over his parents right now and trying to ease their grief.
Patrick will truly be missed by all. He always had a smile on his face when he walked through the door. He was a wonderful role model and always willing to help others. Words cannot describe his dedication and committment to karate. Our prayers and deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Patrick was and will always be a reminder to me to follow my dreams because life is to short. He was an outstanding person and a great rival. His personality will always be with me and I will do my best in and out of the dojang. I will miss you and I hope to see him on the other side.
Patrick was truly a special young man. Refreshing for this day and age, Patrick was encouraging, helpful, respectful and just a funny young man with a large heart and warm spirit. I loved to see Ayanna partnered with him because he exemplified the maturity and dedication to the sport while maintaining the fun. Ayanna always looked forward to working out with him. Patrick was a shining example of what a young person should be, and a beacon to show others the way. I am deeply saddened by his loss. I offer the entire Shire family my deepest sympathies and condolences for your loss. Patrick will truly be missed.
We have been praying for your family since we heard the terrible news…..We saw Patrick in church with the family Christmas Eve….our hearts are broken that we will never see him again. He was everything a parent could want their son to be. We are sure he is with the angels….we wil miss him…
I did not know Patrick personally, but I admired the enthusiasm and respect he showed at BBA. He was a role model for my young son, also named Patrick. May God bless the Shire family in this difficult time.
Unfortunately I never got to know Patrick well as I only met him on a few occasions. What I remember most about him though was his positive attitude. As master Nyce once told me “happiness is a choice”. Too often people get caught up in the little things and never learn to truly enjoy the life they live. Patrick was unique in this way and will be missed.
Patrick was a friend. He cheered me on at friday night at the fights. He was responsible for helping to teach and was a lot of fun. I will miss him and think of him always.
I first met Patrick during BBA Summer Camp as one of my teen helpers. I had nicknames for each of my teen helpers and his was “Patrick of the Shire”. Without really thinking about it at the time, I felt that it was the perfect nickname for him, and now that I look back, I know why. I didn’t know much about Patrick at first, but I could tell right away that he came from a home with loving parents who instilled in him the values that he brought to our summer camp each day. Patrick was a bright and happy kid full of spirit and enthusiasm with a little playful shenanigans mixed in. I could always count on him to watch over the younger kids which he did with a paternal dedication that was beyond his years. Now, I can hardly think about summer camp without thinking of Patrick and the imagery that his nickname suggests. For me, Patrick came from a beautiful place. I will always remember him as “Patrick of the Shire”.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Brenda , John and the rest of Patrick’s family. We were all shocked to hear about this tradgedy. Patrick was a such deticated young man. We watched Patrick grow so much over the last 2 years as a martial artist and a person. He was a friend to Peter and made a lasting impression on all of us. He will be missed.
We got to know Patrick through the summer Black Belt camps. He was such a super addition to the group, especially on the field trips! He was incredibly intelligent and especially knew so much about space and aircrafts. He was always happy and fun to be around. We are so sorry to hear of this great loss. A small comfort to his parents must be knowing that Heaven is a better place now with Patrick there.
On several occasions we came to see our grandson Tristan and noticed how Patrick was such a nice well mannered young man as a fine martial art student .He will be missed. We will keep you in our prayers. God had better plans for Patrick.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Shire family. Although we did not know Patrick personally, my son did have the honor to work with Patrick in the Little Dragon class. Patrick was the kind of boy you want your child to look up to as he always had a smile on his face and always wanted to give a helping hand and was kind and generous to everyone. My heart goes out to you. You are in my prayers. Patrick will be missed by all.
Katie & I (mom) are so very sad to learn of this tragic loss. Patrick always had the best attitude towards life. He worked hard, listened to advice, was always postitive. At tourneys he went out and did his best, irregardless of the result. That is such a standard for the younger students to follow, and from such a young person. While we are far away, we join in the BBA family in our condolences to his family. Remember the wonderful son you raised, we all shall.
Our deepest condolences are with the Shire family though this imaginably difficult time. Patrick was a true role model and dedicated to the martial arts. He was a young man my son looked up to and admired. Patrick touched many hearts during his short time with us. He will be deeply missed. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for Patrick. He made me proud of him time and time again. Working with him strengthened my character as I watched him grow. I was honored to be his teacher and I look forward to seeing him again in heaven.
Patrick and the Shire family will always have a special place in my heart.
We did not know Patrick personally, but we always took note of both his parents’ presence at his practices. Their devotion and love toward their son was so obvious. Our deepest condolences to the Shire Family…May God bless you.
Our sincere condolences go out to the Shire Family during this tragic time of mourning. Let our prayers provide you with peace and strength. Patrick will be deeply missed. RIP Patrick with the good Lord above
When I first heard about the accident at school I was sorrowful and shocked. Honestly patrick was one of the friendliest and funniest guys I ever knew. He did not deserve any of this. He had such a bright future ahead of him. God bless his heart and I hope for the best for you.
Patrick was in classes with Kameron and Karling the entire two years they studied at the Black Belt Academy, and he was one to set the example. The presence of Patrick’s parents always there with him, fully engaged in every phase of his development, spoke volumes of their love, respect and support for one another, and goes a long way to explain what a great kid Patrick was. We will need a miracle of healing for God to somehow, some time, even begin to mend our broken hearts.
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Shire, I am so sad that we have lost Patrick, but it is always good to have great memories about him. So please don’t be to sad, just think about all the god times you and everyone had with him. Love, Grace Cutsinger
Patrick was a friend of mine but we didnt see each other alot, but he was a boy who always loved to read and draw creative things in art in 7th grade. For all of Patrick’s family, he is in a better place now.
Being so far away its terrible to hear this news….I knew patrick only a short time but from my time with him I knew he was a good kid….His presence will surely be missed at our martial arts school and I’m sure he will be missed by everyone he knew…I will continue to keep him in my thoughts and prayers as well as the family…I will remember his smile and his detication
We are new to the area and did not have the opportunity to know Patrick very long. But during the time that we did know him, it was very obvious that he was a kind person and always had a smile on his face. His parents seemed to be at every practice to show their support Our thoughts and prayers are with the Shire family.
I didn’t really get the chance to fully know Patrick, but the first day I saw him I could tell he was one of those people that new what the right thing to do was. He was also a great guy and a good friend. I give his family my prayers and I will say that he will be truly missed.
i was on patricks ski team and i never really got to know him well, but i knew of his great sportsmanship and friendliness. We all miss you at srrc patrick and we hope that your family gets well. I know that everybody on the team misses you. My family and i will keep you in our prayers as well as everyone else that knew of your greatness.
I have not heard this incident till I got this from BBA online. I do not get to known him but I have seen his performance in BBA. He was very friendly and great sportmanship. We surely will missed him. It was great to have him around. Will keep in our prayers for Shires Family.
patrick was a well rounded good hearted boy who deserved a secound chance. people should be like patrick and look up to him like an older brother or sister. i know i do
Patrick was in my Cotilion class this past year. He was a wonderful preson who had a really sweet personality, everyone who knew him, loved him. He will live on in our hearts forever.
patrick shire was a good friend to me. we would always sit next to each other at lunch and he always made me laugh. the last time i got to see him was at the black belt academy christmas party but i never got to say goodbye. i remember us sitting next to each other at the fireplace singing carols and having a good time. i got sick and missed school the day we came back. apparently the school told everyone about his loss but i had no clue. that night i was laying on the couch and my dad came and asked me “did u know patrick shire?” i said yes. he told me he had an accident. i was shocked but then my dad told he had passed away. i was speechless. i thought that i was dreaming cause it couldnt be true. then i realize it was true and i burst out in tears. the day i came back to school i looked over next to me at the lunch table and he wasnt there. to this day i still think how good he was and when i still think about him i start crying cause i miss him so much but i know that he is watching over us wishing he could be here but in my mind he never left he stayed maybe not in human but in spirit. sometimes i think he is right in front of me telling me its going to be ok. his presents is still here i can feel it and trully i think he is still with u but u dont regonize it yet.
thanks to patrick for always being there.
we will miss you forever.
and i will never forget him.
Patrick was nice and very cind. He worked very hard. Even that I never relly meat him I did see work on his form at the ternament. He put efert on every move he did.
And the black belt academy will mise him because he a great breleant man.

At tourneys he went out and did his best, irregardless of the result. That is such a standard for the younger students to follow, and from such a young person. While we are far away, we join in the BBA family in our condolences to his family. Remember the wonderful son you raised, we all shall.
Laurel & Katie.

Dear God,
Thank you for Patrick.

We are new to the area and did not have the opportunity to know Patrick very long. But during the time that we did know him, it was very obvious that he was a kind person and always had a smile on his face. His parents seemed to be at every practice to show their support Our thoughts and prayers are with the Shire family.

patrick shire was a good friend to me. we would always sit next to each other at lunch and he always made me laugh. the last time i got to see him was at the black belt academy christmas party but i never got to say goodbye. i remember us sitting next to each other at the fireplace singing carols and having a good time. i got sick and missed school the day we came back. apparently the school told everyone about his loss but i had no clue. that night i was laying on the couch and my dad came and asked me “did u know patrick shire?” i said yes. he told me he had an accident. i was shocked but then my dad told he had passed away. i was speechless. i thought that i was dreaming cause it couldnt be true. then i realize it was true and i burst out in tears. the day i came back to school i looked over next to me at the lunch table and he wasnt there. to this day i still think how good he was and when i still think about him i start crying cause i miss him so much but i know that he is watching over us wishing he could be here but in my mind he never left he stayed maybe not in human but in spirit. sometimes i think he is right in front of me telling me its going to be ok. his presents is still here i can feel it and trully i think he is still with u but u dont regonize it yet.
thanks to patrick for always being there.
we will miss you forever.
and i will never forget him.
