Mr. Max Ehrlich

2nd Degree Black Belt

Max started his martial arts training age five. He is a fifteen year old freshman at Westfield High School. He received his first degree black Belt at the age of nine and 2nd degree at the age of twelve.

Max competed on the NASKA World Circuit for four years and was rated number two in traditional and creative form and weapons and number three in fighting. In 2006 he was selected for the USA WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) Team and represented the USA in the 1st Junior World Championships in Croatia. Although he has been very successful in point and continuous fighting as well as San Shou (Chinese full contact kickboxing 1W-0L), he has been focusing on his wushu training.

In 2006, after winning a place on the USA Junior Wushu Team, he spent six weeks training at Shi Cha Hai Sports School (where Jet Li trained) in Beijing, China. He represented the USA at the 1st Junior World Wushu Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In 2007 he won a position on the USA (adult) Wushu Team and will be representing the USA at the Pan American Championships in Brazil next year.

Max is the son of Master Neil Ehrlich. He is an extremely talented, dedicated and charismatic martial artist. We are proud and excited to have Max on our staff. Advanced belts may benefit from his vast knowledge in his Saturday morning wushu class.

Master Ehrlich's youngest son & Max's brother, Jacob, has been competing since the age of five and received his black belt in 2006. He is a sixth grade student at Deer Park Elementary School. Jacob is an assistant instructor in our Little Dragons program. Jake exemplifies "leading by example" and tells us he "just likes to help little kids."
